The Symposium is aimed to bring together
researchers, academia, milk producers & processors, policy makers and professionals across the dairy
sector to present and discuss science, technology, production and policy related to milks
originating from non-bovine species (sheep, goat, camel, donkey and other non-bovine milks). The
event will feature technical sessions on socio-economic aspects; farm management including animal
selection, breeding, health & nutrition; sustainability; compositional specificities and processing
technologies; global standards on quality & safety; analytical aspects; and therapeutic & functional
properties of the non-bovine milks. The Symposium will serve as a platform for the exchange of
knowledge and information among international experts and sector stakeholders.
It will focus on the latest scientific advances and recent developments on the subject. It is a key
meeting to network, discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with non-bovine milks.

the path in promoting sustainable and safe dairy practices, shaping policies, standards and
regulations world-wide. India is represented in International Dairy Federation (IDF) by the Indian
National Committee (INC). The INC IDF has 17 members representing Government, National Institutions,
Academia and Industry. The Secretary (AHD), DAHD, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry &
Dairying, Government of India is the President of the INC IDF. National Dairy Development Board
(NDDB), as its Secretariat, coordinates the activities of the INC IDF.
